What are Progress Drawings ?

Progress Drawings is a software system to generate progress drawings of any construction project based on Primavera schedule updates. It shows the progress of activities on the drawing in different colors for Completed, Progressing, Pending and Delayed activities / objects. It also shows the list of activities on the drawing with progress bars and markers to identify drawing elements and activities very easily. Once a project has been setup on Progress Drawings software, it is a matter of few seconds to generate new progress drawings for the latest updates of your updated Primavera project schedule.

Limited version of this software is absolutely FREE.

1 Input 1 - AutoCAD Drawing.
AutoCAD drawing of your project is a basic requirement to do a project in Progress Drawings software.
Plan, section or elevation of your project can be used for a Progress Drawings project.
AutoCAD 2004 or later can be used for this purpose.
If any BLOCKs are used, it has to be exploded.
For the input drawing, it is always recommended to save a copy of your project drawing as per the required standards.
 
2 Input 2 - Primavera Project
The primavera project of your project is another requirement to do a project in Progress Drawing software.
The primavera project should have a target / baseline attached to it. (Target 1 in P3)
3 AutoCAD Layers and Primavera Activities
Simplicity of this software is that no manual linking of Primavera Activities and AutoCAD drawing objects are required in this software.
The objects of a certain activity should be in a separate layer with the layer name as its activity ID of Primavera.
This is how the system automatically identifies objects and activity relations
4 AutoCAD Drawing LIMITS
The AutoCAD drawing LIMITS has to defined as per the required area to be shown in the Progress Drawing output.
To do this enter the LIMITS command in AutoCAD and select Lower-Left corn
 
5 System requirements
Operating system - Microsoft Windows XP.
AutoCAD 2004, ... 2009
Primavera Project Planner P3 or P5/P6
Internet connection
 
6 Output - Progress Drawing
Progress drawing will be generated in seconds by a single click on the output button.
Input drawing and primavera project should be uploaded before attempting to generate a progress drawing.
Drawing output will be saved automatically in C:\Progress Drawings\ folder with file name as project name with data date .DWG
Example: If the project name is Sample1 and data date is Jan 1, 2009 then the output =   C:\Progress Drawings\Sample1_01-01-2009.DWG
 
7 Color Codes
Colors of the drawing elements will be changed automatically based on the progress of the corresponding activities.
Green, Yellow, Gray and Red for Completed, Progressing, Pending and Delayed activities respectively.
Note:- Colors of all objects should set as BYLAYER before uploading to this software.
 
 
8 Activity bars
Activities with actual and planned progress bars with values will be displayed on the drawing as shown.
 
9 Markers
Markers are colored dots as shown above on each activity and the related drawing elements to identity the which objects are related to which activity and visa versa.
 
10 How to generate progress drawings for new updates ?
Process the new Primavera update by clicking on the respective button described and wait till the process is completed.
After successful completion, click on the progress generation button to generate new progress drawing.
